DSC Rides the Tiger!
23. February 2010 by admin.
Turbulent. Volatile. Fiery. 2010, the Year of the Tiger, some would say might be a difficult year with plenty of socio-political turmoil and sweeping changes. So, how to deal? How to maintain a sense of patience, kindness and peace? Create! Sometimes big changes provide us with an opportunity to re-sculpt our lives by creating harmony and prosperity out of challenging circumstances. Create something out of nothing. Create beauty from chaos. Help others to do the same.
Like our friend Heather. She is a performance artist & educator who has started an Artist’s Salon & workshop series March 1st through May 2nd to unite and motivate artists to take back the creative spirit of New York. Contact heather_acs@yahoo.com for more information.
We met Heather at Artists & Fleas Market while we were selling our UseRefuse collection. It was refreshing to find many other artists featured in the market rallying together to make lemonade out of lemons. There was a communal hum of generosity while vendors offered free samples of anything from caramel dip to hand cream. We learned from seasoned vendors other selling frontiers such as etsy.com. Visit our storefront at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignSpaceConcept
Other great community based organizations that have helped us with our business fundamentals include the Brooklyn Cooperative Federal Credit Union, SCORE and NY Designs.
Networking has never been more important to nourish communal spirit. Especially in business, we should be each others’ advocates. We hope that the following businesses and individuals can help connect you as much as they have helped us.
