Save the Arts!

proho-craft-fair-collage.jpg

PS 9 in Prospect Heights Brooklyn found a creative way to keep the school’s art department kicking for kids. Artists and craftspeople gathered in the school gymnasium to sell their unique and handmade goods. DSC was happy to “trash up” the place with their fashion and home accessories called the UseRefuse Collection made from up-cycled plastic and packaging. Latisha Daring of Pieces helped to organize the event and get local creatives on board. Last Saturday’s Craft Fair was a perfect example of a community event geared toward enriching the youth through the arts. We should all recognize the transformative power of art!

UseRefuse Messengers

UseRefuse introduces the messenger bag and folio as the bridge into unisex accessories. Men, you are the messengers of future generations. Sporting enviro-conscious UseRefuse bags, you can carry more than just your music, artwork, documents, or scrubs. You carry a message of change.  UseRefuse bags use refuse in order to shrink our impact on our growing landfills. Intend to remember, remake, reuse. Please contact designspaceconcept@yahoo.com for information about donating plastic bags and packaging. DSC thanks an insurance agent, art director, doctor and musician for modeling at last weekend’s Prospect Heights Craft Fair.

Pieces of Brooklyn has branched out with beautiful home accessories & furnishings.  Latisha tore down the mysterious brown butcher paper to reveal Bits & Pieces. DSC had the windows covered literally & figuratively. ReBag continues to grow into luminescent faux stained glass & hanging floral sculpture. Yes, even lampshades. Bright ideas for Spring are sprung. Visit the corner of Vanderbilt Ave. & Park Place to view & purchase fashion & home accessories handmade & designed by DSC along with many other artists & designers.
